MARC LATO Director
Dr. Marc Lato has over 21 years of working in a Family Medicine practice and over 22 years of administrative experience as a physician executive/medical director and chief medical officer in various health plans, organizations, and hospital systems. He holds a BA in Psychology and an MD from the University of Arizona. He received his Family Medicine residency training at St Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona and is board certified in Family Medicine.
He has extensive experience with Arizona’s Medicaid system called AHCCCS (Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System) and with its long term care program (ALTCS- Arizona Long Term Care System). Additionally, Dr. Lato has expertise with Medicare Advantage Plans, Special Needs Plans, and with utilization management including the use of InterQual and MCG Guidelines. He has developed quality improvement programs and directed quality and utilization management programs at the various organizations at which he has worked. Most recently, he served as Interim Medical Director for Denver Health Medical Plan in Colorado.
He is a member of numerous professional organizations and works with various charitable groups within the Greater Phoenix community including his synagogue and Hushabye Nursery, a 3-year-old non-profit dealing with opiate addicted mothers and babies who suffer from neonatal abstinence syndrome.
